Louvre ticket prices in 2026
Since January 14, 2026, the adult single ticket costs €22 for visitors who are EEA nationals or EEA residents. Visitors who are neither pay €32. Under 18, entry is free whatever your nationality, and you should carry an ID that shows your date of birth. Older articles with one flat price are out of date.
The museum sells its own tickets. This guide is independent and does not issue them. The ticket covers the permanent collections and the temporary exhibitions, plus the Musée national Eugène-Delacroix on the same or the following day. Every exit from the Louvre is final, so a ticket is not a day pass with re-entry.

Who pays what
Prices and groups as listed for 2026.
| Visitor | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Adult, EEA national or resident | €22 | Residence proof can be a residence permit or visa for more than 3 months |
| Adult, neither national nor resident | €32 | Applies to visitors from outside the EEA without EEA residence |
| Under 18 | Free | Any nationality; bring ID with a date of birth |
| Ages 18–25 | Free for some | The French page requires EEA residence and proof of long-term residence; see below |
| Visitors with disabilities | Free | One companion also enters free |
| Audio guide | €6 | 9 languages including German; an ID deposit is required |
| Museum introduction tour | €12 | €9 reduced; added to the entry ticket |
The EEA means the EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The museum's own pages word the rule in two ways, one with 'and/or' and one with 'neither', so bring both your passport and proof of residence if you rely on the lower fare. The same goes for the under 26 rule: the English page also lists EEA nationals under 26, while the French page names EEA residents aged 18 to 25. Check which line applies to you before you book.
If you buy an EEA ticket by mistake, the tariff list foresees a surcharge of €15 on top of what you already paid. That is more than the gap between the two prices, so choose the right fare the first time. The museum's FAQ lists no reduced general admission ticket.

Time slots and reservations
A slot is recommended. On some dates it is required.
Book a time slot
The museum recommends choosing a time slot when you buy. A box office sale on the day is possible only when attendance is low and tickets are available, so do not plan around it.
Required from October 17 to November 1, 2026
In this period, all visitors except those on the museum's exception list must reserve. The list includes people with disabilities and a companion, certain membership cards, ICOM and other eligible cards. The Paris Museum Pass is not on it.
Exhibitions in the Hall Napoléon
These need their own exhibition slot in addition to your entry. Check this when you pick a date.
Security checks apply to everyone
A reservation does not skip the bag check. Items larger than 55 × 35 × 20 cm are not allowed, not even in the reception area.
Entrances →Tickets are generally not changeable or exchangeable. If the museum cancels or changes what it offers, it refunds under its conditions. Pick the date and the slot with care.
Free entry: evenings and one holiday
You still need a ticket, and it is booked through the museum's own shop.
Entry is free on the first Friday of each month after 6 p.m., except in July and August. It is also free on July 14. Free evenings are popular, so book early and expect the evening opening rules, which close some painting rooms. The page on opening hours explains which ones.
Other groups with free entry include visitors with disabilities and one companion, and further groups on the museum's list who can show proof. Do not assume that an EEA passport alone gives free entry if you live outside the EEA, because the museum's texts do not agree on that point.
Paris Museum Pass
A multi-museum pass, listed by the Louvre among the accepted entitlements.
| Pass | Duration | Price in 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| 2 days | 48 hours | €85 |
| 4 days | 96 hours | €105 |
| 6 days | 144 hours | €125 |
The clock starts at your first visit. Some sales networks add service fees. The pass provider asks you to reserve a free time slot for the Louvre, and slots depend on capacity. A pass is not a guaranteed place, and without a slot, entry can take a long time or be impossible.
If the Louvre is the only museum on your list, a single ticket at €22 costs far less than the cheapest pass at €85. A pass makes sense when you plan several visits in a few days and can reserve each one in time.
Resellers and look-alike websites
What the museum warns about.
The museum warns against mirror websites, street sellers and tickets sold as a way to skip the queue. Entry can be refused with such tickets. That does not make every third party a scam: independent providers also sell guided visits that include entry. Read what the product includes, which date and slot it covers and whether the museum entry is part of the price. Compare it with the museum's own price before you pay.
